Because I Feel Them in Me (Awesome Repost # 14)

Found these great words over at amir sulaiman.  I swear he pulls words from the soul.

in my chest there is a heart
in my heart there is a river
that river leads to a sea
in that sea there is a vortex
in that vortex is every woman i have ever loved
they will never be seen again

----

I can feel my own vortex, growing.

Because if I Wanted, I Could Sleep at Night, in Peace (Awesome Repost #13)

Even as I view this picture, it moves me. Taken from the awesome Tumblr blog (or Tumblog, for those of you big on proper terminology) of Joshua Bennett, self proclaimed Square Dancing with Giants.  I am hoping that most of you know what's going on in the world today.  If not, look up these places in 2011, and become aware.  Then pray that we are all liberated one day.

At night, I lie in my comfortable bed, head resting gently against my soft pillow, and try to sleep.  My mind is in Tripoli and Cairo, and in the streets of Yemen and Tunisia.  Where there is no rest.  Because for far too many souls, there is still no peace.  Let's strive to free this world from painful oppression and senseless suffering.

This Should Make You Reflect (Awesome Repost #12)

I'd like to thank Amir Sulaiman for continuously presenting things that make my mind delight with wonder. This video was filmed in the Redwood forests of Humboldt County, in northern California.

Growing is Forever from Jesse Rosten on Vimeo.

"...it is not easy to grow so much, for so long..."

I focused in on this line, because it, like much of the video, paralleled the growth of mankind.  We could still learn a lot from the natural world around us.  There is a resiliency in growth, that often takes more patience than most people are willing to put in.  Some trees take decades to reach their maximum height, and others even longer.  It discourages me that many people, myself included, are resistant when it comes to giving a minimal amount of time and effort that will add up to maximum growth in the long run.

"...it was very quiet, all the time, because the trees needed to focus on their lives..."

I was really affected by these words.  As a constant and, at times, very loud complainer, I took from this that sometimes in order to grow, I could use a "just shut up" moment.  Stop complaining so much.  Stop getting so caught up in everything negative, and positively focus on my life.  Mankind should take note of this as well.  Growth takes being silent and focusing, two things that we are historically notorious for neglecting.  200, 000 years in existence, and modern man still hasn't grown beyond war, violence, discrimination, and hate.  Sounds like a bit more growth must take place.

"....growing is forever, they whisper."

So very true indeed.  May we continue to try to grow, into better people, living better lives, in a better world.

Because We Could All Use The Extra Love (Awesome Repost #11)

(Must say that I am upset that YouTube no longer offers the color choice when embedding...those blue borders matched my blog perfectly...lol...but oh, well...)

This little bit of awesomeness is courtesy of SusuanaLoves You :) (one of my favorite blogs).

Lucy & the Cloud Parade --- Love Yourself

As the song says, "be who you'll be....no need to change...love, love yourself..."

I think this is something that most people find hard to do. We are all so stuck on the physical. And we all seek others to validate us. But I believe it is important to first start with self-love. Understanding that you are beautiful, simply because you are, is the first step to accepting love and reciprocating love. So right now, walk in front of the largest mirror you can find, smile at that beautiful reflection, and yell as loud as you can, "I love me!!!"

Didn't that feel good?!....much love from me to all those people who love themselves. Continue to be your most beautiful you.

Because He Cracked Me Up, and Made So Much Sense (Awesome Repost #10)

I'd like to thank the fabulous Ms. Osborne at Truthfully, Mo for this hilarious video

This guy cracks me up!!!  But what he says about self esteem is right on point.  Don't let someone else control how you feel about you.

Maybe If We Got Snow Like This (Awesome Repost #9)

So the last few days, the city of Hamlet, NC has been blanketed in snow.  Okay, blanketed is an exaggeration and, since the snow actually stopped yesterday and has now become a sheet of slushy ice, I reckon the few days part is one as well.  But it DID snow.  At first, the kid in me was all for it.  This area hardly gets any snow.  When it does, I tend to act like most residents and go slightly mad.  But it was all in fun.  By that afternoon (after having ventured out onto the highways and seen how slightly mad people truly act), I was sick of the snow.

But after seeing this video (courtesy of those amazing folks at UNKO), I started to think that maybe if it could snow like this, I'd be all for it.

And this was taken in Dallas, TX, ironically the same day it eventually started to snow here.  Isn't Texas supposed to be warmer than North Carolina?  What's up with that?

OMG, I Really Needed That Laugh!! (Awesome Repost #7)

I appreciate Morgan Farruya's blog more than she probably realizes.  Sometimes, it is the smile that sparks the beginning of a good day.  Other times, it is a blatant look at reality that makes me ask myself, "what the fuck you complaining for?" (Yes, I talk to myself using bad grammar...lol)

I think this video is the laugh that just allows me to release some built up tension.  Enjoy.

All I can say is, when life throws you a hurdle, fuck it, run right through that bitch!!! Lmao.

A Wonderfully Wicked Video, Indeed (Awesome Repost #5)

Riding the avenues of some of my favorite blogs, I discovered this video.

Shouts go out to SusuanaLove, the awesome Love music video child, indeed!!  I love her take on this video.

As for the song, it is from their second album, and I like it since I've pretty much always been a fan of the Used.  I really enjoyed how their third album (Lies for the Liars) finally put them on the map.  The sound was a kind of Fall Out Boy meets My Chemical Romance meshing....which worked for me, since those are two of my favorite bands.  But anyway.

I love this video, because of the aesthetic value.  The combination of animation and all of the familiar themes fit well with the song.  Might not be everyone's type of music, but perhaps those people can at least appreciate the artistry of the video.

Maybe Too Awesome for Words (Awesome Repost #4)

(coming by way of Ka'Mone Felix)

This is a poem, performed by Andrea Gibson.  But really, it is so much more.

I keep staring at the screen, watching in awe.  I feel emotion start to creep in and somewhere, in the middle of my watching, my heart just has to scream.

If we refuse to tolerate what we don't understand, the entire human race suffers.

Say What? (Awesome RePost #3)

I was cruising through some of my favorite blogs to check out when I came across this photo posted by Morgan Farruya (who allow me to say constantly drips with awesomeness through amazing pics and posts).  All I can say is that it was a "shaking my damn head" moment.  A part of me was happy that Rihanna expresses herself fully and at all times, but the parent in me makes me wonder if I'd want my child to have to ask their favorite singer what "Fuck You" means

Of course, in these days, I imagine most kids have heard worse.

Class is in Session!! (Awesome Repost #2)

This is a repost that I've been meaning to do for over a week now.  Taken from the blog of Joshua Bennett (an insanely talented young man who is poet/student/advocate/inspiration all rolled into one....he is one of many who make me proud of what my generation is becoming)  Check out his blog here:  http://myheartisaspaceship.blogspot.com/

I stumbled across this video there and was instantly blown away.  It is visually stunning and motivates the mind, through style.  I am really loving the Black Ivy.  Shout out to the guys at Street Etiquette for their creative vision.  Definitely worth the visit, their site can be found here:  http://streetetiquette.com/
